Privacy policy

Who is responsible

EdSol is operated from Bangladesh by Abdullah Al Maswud, who is responsible for the personal data in this policy. EdSol does not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Your account

Email and password. EdSol stores your name, email address and a salted password hash; your password is never stored in readable form. To confirm the address, EdSol emails a six-digit code (valid 5 minutes) and a button (valid 24 hours). Only a hash of each is stored, and a new email cancels the previous ones.

Continue with Google. If you choose it, Google tells EdSol your name, email address and that Google has verified it. EdSol does not receive your Google password, contacts or other Google data. If an EdSol account already uses that address, Google signs you in to it instead of creating a second one.

Your session is kept in essential sign-in cookies. Account emails come from no-reply@edsol.academy through Hostinger's mail service.

Learning records

While you are signed in, EdSol keeps your work in progress (answers, notes, timers, full mocks and estimates, game levels) with your account so you can continue on another device, plus your goal, study plan, submitted attempts, streak, full-mock use, saved Speaking sessions, AI usage counts and marketing choices.

Before your first practice, EdSol asks only which test you are preparing for and your target band. Everything else in your profile is optional: age range (never your date of birth), country and city, study level, institution and subject, test date, and study-abroad plans. EdSol uses what you give to tailor your preparation.

Your phone number is asked only if you allow EdSol to contact you about study-abroad guidance, and is deleted when you turn that off. It is stored encrypted. EdSol admins see it masked, and showing the full number is logged.

No sharing. EdSol never sells your profile or passes it to agencies, universities or anyone else. If that ever changes, it will only happen with a separate consent that names who receives it. Admins can see your profile on your learner record, and each view is logged. Clear any optional answer at any time.

Your work, on any device

While you are signed in, everything you do is saved to your account as you go: practice answers, Reading notes, timers, Listening position, full mocks, Speaking transcripts, game XP and best scores. Open EdSol on another device and carry on where you stopped. A copy is also kept in this browser so pages open instantly; signing out removes it. Work done while signed out stays in this browser and moves to your account when you sign in. Only device settings, such as the light or dark theme, stay on the device.

Microphone and AI feedback

Speaking practice records only after you press record and allow the microphone. Speech is turned into text on your device; EdSol never uploads or stores your audio. The speech model is downloaded from jsDelivr the first time.

When you ask for AI feedback, EdSol sends the essay, the recognised Speaking transcript or your IELTS Tutor messages to OpenRouter and the AI model it routes to. EdSol may use free AI models, whose providers can keep the text and use it to improve their models, so do not include personal or sensitive details. Tutor chats are not saved to your account. Feedback is kept for 30 days with a fingerprint of the text, so sending the same text again is answered from that copy. For a study plan, EdSol sends your target band, exam date, weekly study time, focus skill and baseline bands (never your name or writing).

A live voice conversation with AI is not offered at present. This policy will say how it works before it is.

Payments

For a paid plan, EdSol sends your name, email, mobile number, billing address, plan, order reference and amount to SSLCommerz to open its payment page. You pay on SSLCommerz; EdSol never receives card numbers, PINs or security codes. EdSol keeps the order, amount, SSLCommerz transaction ID, plan dates and invoice to provide the plan and for accounting, tax and dispute handling.

Cookies and analytics

EdSol sets no advertising cookies. On your first visit you choose whether to allow a first-party analytics cookie. If you allow it, a random visitor ID is kept for up to 180 days and EdSol stores only a keyed hash of it; if you decline, EdSol uses a keyed hash of your network address that changes every month. Your raw address is never stored.

Each page view records the page path, approximate country, the referring site, device type and time, and is deleted after 400 days. The country is looked up on EdSol's own server using IP geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0); your address is not sent to DB-IP. Lesson pages count visits, video starts and progress per lesson and day, without linking them to you. The games remember which questions you have seen using a keyed hash of your network address, deleted after 90 days without play. Change your choice on Cookies & storage.

Marketing email

Marketing email is optional and needs its own unticked box; EdSol records the wording, source and time of your choice. Marketing email is not being sent at present. Withdraw your consent at any time by writing to admin@edsol.academy; EdSol keeps a small record so the choice is respected.

Who else processes data

  • Hostinger: hosts the site, database, files and email, and keeps its own technical request logs.
  • Google: sign-in, only if you choose it.
  • OpenRouter and its AI model providers: text you send for AI feedback.
  • SSLCommerz: payments.
  • YouTube (privacy-enhanced player): video lessons.
  • jsDelivr: the speech model download.
  • dictionaryapi.dev: a single word you look up, only when the passage glossary has no entry.

These services may process data outside Bangladesh under their own terms and privacy policies.

How long data is kept

  • Account, profile, learning records and saved work: while your account exists.
  • AI feedback: 30 days. Study plans: until your goal changes.
  • Saved Speaking sessions: until you delete them.
  • Page views: 400 days. Game positions: 90 days without play.
  • Orders, payments and invoices: as long as accounting, tax and disputes require, even after an account is closed.
  • Security and fraud records: in the minimum form needed.

Your choices and rights

You can refuse the microphone, skip dictionary lookups, clear browser data and sign out at any time. See and correct your profile on your Profile page, and delete your account there yourself (Delete your account). For anything else, such as a copy of your data, write to admin@edsol.academy from your account email. Never send passwords or recordings in a request.

Changes to this policy

This policy changes when EdSol's use of data does; the date at the top shows the current version. A change to analytics, sign-in, AI providers or advertising is described here before it starts.
