Cookies & storage
EdSol uses essential account cookies and browser storage for your study experience. Website analytics lets you choose a first-party visitor cookie or a cookie-free, monthly IP-hash method.

Cookies
EdSol does not set advertising or third-party analytics cookies. If you allow the optional EdSol analytics cookie, a random first-party visitor ID is stored in an HttpOnly cookie for up to 180 days; only a keyed hash of that ID is saved with page views. If you choose “Reject,” EdSol sets no analytics cookie and uses a monthly rotating keyed hash of the request IP to estimate unique visitors. Raw IP addresses are never stored. Approximate country is available only when supplied by the hosting edge. Change your choice below. This choice changes the visitor identifier method; aggregate page views are counted either way. Lesson activity counts (visits, video starts, playback milestones, and practice clicks) start only after you make this choice; they are daily totals per lesson and use no cookie or visitor ID. See the Privacy Policy for the events and retention details.
Cookies EdSol sets
| Name | Purpose | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| authjs.session-token | Keeps you signed in | Essential | Up to 30 days, or until you sign out |
| authjs.csrf-token | Protects sign-in forms from forged requests | Essential | Until you close the browser |
| authjs.callback-url | Returns you to the page you were on after signing in | Essential | Until you close the browser |
| edsol_analytics_id | Counts unique visitors more accurately | Optional, only if you accept | 180 days, removed if you reject |
Over HTTPS the sign-in cookie names carry a __Secure- or __Host- prefix. Essential cookies do not need consent because the site cannot work without them. EdSol sets no advertising or third-party cookies.
Local storage
Browser local storage keeps practice answers, reading notes, mock timers, listening position, game levels, speaking transcript text, and theme preference, so your work can resume after a refresh. When you are signed in, all of your work in progress, speaking transcripts included, is also saved to your EdSol account so it follows you to other devices, and signing out removes it from this browser. Only device settings such as the theme stay on this browser. Clear this website's site data in your browser settings to remove the browser copy.
Cache for faster loading
Your browser and the hosting network may cache public static files such as logos, illustrations, product media, and IELTS practice assets. EdSol uses shorter cache lifetimes for practice content so updates can appear promptly. Next.js's versioned build assets use immutable URLs. Browser cache is separate from your saved answers and is controlled by browser and network cache rules.
Third-party requests
- When accounts are enabled, EdSol's Auth.js application receives sign-in, sign-up, confirmation, and session requests to operate your account; account records are stored in MySQL.
- The optional Reading dictionary can send the selected word to dictionaryapi.dev when the local glossary has no definition.
- The first use of Speaking live transcription downloads the speech module and model from jsDelivr. Recognition itself runs on your device; microphone audio is not uploaded by EdSol.
- When the AI feature is enabled, writing, tutor, transcript feedback, and optional assessment requests send the text you submit and relevant chat context to OpenRouter and EdSol's configured model provider. The microphone recording is not included in these text requests. AI features are disabled by default in production.
- Live AI Speaking Partner streams microphone audio to OpenAI Realtime for the conversation. EdSol asks before the first use in each browser session; the live audio is not stored by EdSol.
- Optional paid checkout redirects you to SSLCommerz. The payment page and the details you submit there are controlled by SSLCommerz.
These providers receive standard technical request information, such as an IP address, as necessary to deliver their responses. EdSol uses the technical data needed to deliver and rate-limit requests. AI text and voice processing happens with the providers named in the Privacy Policy.
Future Google products
If Google Analytics, AdSense, or another optional tracking or advertising product is added, EdSol will update its privacy disclosures and configure appropriate consent before enabling it. Google requires publishers serving personalized ads in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland to use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. EdSol has not integrated advertising and does not currently collect advertising consent.
Manage or clear browser data
Use your browser's site settings to view or clear EdSol's local storage and cache. Clearing local storage removes the browser copy of drafts, notes, timers, and theme preference; work saved to your account comes back when you sign in. Clearing cache may cause static files and the speech model to download again.
