How can we help?
Practice and mocks
What can I practise on EdSol?
All four IELTS skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, one part at a time, untimed or timed. You can also take a full mock that runs Listening, Reading, and Writing back to back. Speaking is a separate session.
Can I take a timed test?
Yes. Every part has a timed option. The full mock runs Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60), then Writing (60). A free account includes one full mock, and you can resume an unfinished one without using it again. It is exam-paced practice, not an official IELTS test.
Will practice stay free?
Yes. The practice library and timed part mocks stay free, with no payment method needed. The paid plans add AI feedback and more full mocks alongside them, not in place of them.
Should I use the Listening transcript?
Answer from the audio first. The transcript is hidden by default; turn it on afterwards to check what you heard and where each answer appears.
Scores
Does EdSol give an IELTS band score?
No. For tests with a verified answer key, EdSol shows how many answers you got right, such as 32 of 40. Today that covers Academic 21 Test 1 Listening and Reading. EdSol does not estimate IELTS bands, and Writing and Speaking are not marked automatically.
Lessons
What are EdSol lessons?
Short video lessons from EdSol instructors. Each one is reviewed before it is published, and it plays right on EdSol. Find them on the Lessons page.
Account and saved work
Is my progress saved?
Yes, when you are signed in. Your account saves your study plan, every attempt you submit, and work in progress: answers, Reading notes, mock timers, Listening position, full mocks, Speaking transcripts and game levels. Open EdSol on another device and carry on where you stopped. Without an account, work in progress is kept in this browser only, and moves to your account when you sign in.
How do I delete my account or data?
Clear this site's browser storage to remove local drafts and notes. To delete your account, ask through the contact page. Some billing, security, and dispute records may be kept in a minimal form. See retention and your choices.
Do I have to receive marketing emails?
No. Marketing email is a separate opt-in that starts unticked, and no campaigns are sent today. To withdraw consent, use the contact page.
Privacy
Does speaking practice upload my voice?
No. Speech recognition runs on your device. The first time, your browser downloads the speech model; your audio is never uploaded or stored by EdSol.
Does the dictionary send my reading passage anywhere?
No. When a word is not in EdSol's own glossary, only that one word is sent to the public dictionary at dictionaryapi.dev.
Which outside services does EdSol use?
jsDelivr for the speech module and dictionaryapi.dev for single-word lookups. EdSol records first-party visit counts. Lessons play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player, which loads only when you press play. See the Privacy Policy.
Higher Studies
What is the Higher Studies Hub?
A place to plan study abroad. Uni Finder searches Bachelor's, Master's and PhD programmes listed by official sources, with filters for country, level, subject, city and language. Each programme shows its fees, length, deadline and entry requirements where the source gives them, and you can save the ones you like. The IELTS Hub score tools sit alongside. Start at the Higher Studies Hub.
Where do the programmes come from, and how current are they?
From official registers: DAAD for Germany, the CRICOS register for Australia, College Scorecard for the United States, the Commission for Academic Accreditation for the UAE, Study in Saudi for Saudi Arabia, Study in Türkiye for Turkey (Bachelor's programmes) and the Erasmus Mundus Catalogue for joint Master's across Europe. DAAD is checked daily and the others weekly. Every programme page shows when it was last checked, and a programme its source stops listing is marked as such.
Do I need an account for Uni Finder?
The Higher Studies Hub is open to everyone. Searching Uni Finder, opening a programme and saving it need a free EdSol account; no paid plan is required.
Are the fees and entry requirements exact?
They are shown as the official source states them, but universities change details between checks. Confirm everything on the official page before you apply. If that link has moved, use Search for this programme on the programme page. EdSol does not handle applications and is not affiliated with the universities or the sources.
Plans and access
How does the EDSOLAI access code work?
EDSOLAI is a limited offer. Enter it when you choose a paid plan and your account gets Ultra Pro for one month, which you can renew from 14 days before it ends. You get an invoice for your records. The offer runs for a limited time, and EdSol may end it at any time with notice.
About EdSol
Is EdSol an official IELTS product?
No. EdSol is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by IELTS. IELTS is a registered trademark jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. See the Terms of use.
